Branding"unavoidable"
Avoiding branding is impossible, according to an article in the Ledger.
However, consumers are "happy" to be part of the branding machine and the correctly branded product can have a "powerful impact" on buying patterns.
Writing in the Ledger, Mary McQueen said that customers who have been successfully targeted by branding campaigns, using strategies such as corporate gifts, will "eagerly buy into [a] company's image and product".
Ms McQueen explained that markets have trained consumers to think that buying the right kind of product affects their mood.
She said: "Often, consumers buy certain products not for their functionality, but rather the way the product can make them feel."
According to Business Week, successful branding can make a company "the only option" for consumers looking for a certain type of product.
Corporate gifts expert Gareth Parkin agreed, adding that correctly-used corporate gifts can be all a business needs to promote their brand.
