Commemorative golden boot for 100 goals

Whitley Bay player Lee Kerr has been presented with an engraved commemorative gold boot to recognise his 100 goals scored for the club.

The 21-year-old Jarrow resident scored his 100th goal during Thursday's match against Northallerton.

Mr Kerr is the sixth and youngest player from the club to have ever achieved this landmark and joins John Gatens, Ian Chandler, Billy Wright, Neal Walton and Ray Oliver on the exclusive list.

On average, Mr Kerr has scored an average of a goal every two games and in seven games over December and January he managed a total of 14 goals, according to his club.

Last year Lee Kerr was named Radio Newcastle Player of the Year and won the Northern League Young Player of the Year.

Engraved gifts like Mr Kerr's trophy can be purchased online, with other branded merchandise like silver gifts, pewter tankards and hip flasks all available for personalisation.
