Companies should 'dare to be different'

Companies wishing to stand out from the competition need to "dare to be different" in their branding choices, according to Business24-7.ae.

The business advisory site quotes award winning brand consultant Ken Cato who believes that firms need to choose a "distinctive" brand in order to be recognised.

"Different doesn't have to be radical, different can also be very smart. But different is not copying or following others," he told business24-7.ae.

More original brands stick in consumers' minds and are then more easily recalled the next time someone comes into contact with a company, according to Mr Cato.

But Mr Cato warns that the delivery of a brand's message is as important as the message itself.

One way of introducing a company's brand to the public is through the medium of corporate gifts.

Such gifts can include pewter tankards, silver gifts, executive games and corporate logo gifts.

According to marketing expert Tara Roitman, a number of studies have demonstrated that customers are able to recall the names of companies whose corporate gifts they use more easily than the names of other firms.
