Corporate gifts 'can make good presents for teachers'

Engraved gifts make good presents for teachers, it has been claimed.

Employee incentives are known to improve efficiency and staff morale and headteacher of the Hanahan Middle School told the Charleston Post and Carrier that his staff often go "above and beyond" what is expected of them.

The school hopes to hold more teacher appreciation weeks when corporate gifts are distributed to staff in the future.

"It's hard to reward teachers for the amount of time and effort they actually put into their job," he told the paper.

Headteacher of Stratford High School, which also rewarded its teachers, said he could not think of a business where staff work harder.

Corporate gifts are a well-established way of rewarding staff.

As well as thanking staff for their hard work and acting as an incentive for them to work harder, business logo gifts can also act as publicity for a firm.

A 2003 study by the Incentive Federation in the US found that some 92 per cent of workers who were offered incentives achieved targets because of incentive schemes.
