Corporate gifts find a new lease of life
Corporate gifts have been given a new lease of life through an innovative scheme set-up by a team of communications experts in America.
Millions of people are on the receiving end of corporate gifts they have no use for every Christmas but thanks to the online 're-gifting' strategy of the S&R Communications Group these items have not been going to waste.
In fact, they have been raising money for charities in North Carolina, where the group is based, through an online network designed to find a new home for each unwanted item.
Every time one of these corporate gifts is exchanged a donation is made to a local charity, which has made the whole business of office present swapping more rewarding for employees in the North Carolina city of Durham.
"We sent out the mugs in December, and in just five days over $1,600 (£800) had been raised," said Paul Dreyer, President, chief operating officer.
"The company topped that amount up to almost $5,000 to divide equally among the charities."
Last week, a blogger named Bob Meyer asserted that branded corporate gifts are an effective and inexpensive way for businesses to boost their operations.
