Corporate gifts 'good for the environment'

Giving corporate gifts is an environmentally-friendly form of advertising, it has been claimed.

Not only do they increase brand loyalty, but corporate gifts provide a lasting advertisement which is likely to be useful and produce less waste than more traditional forms of advertising such as posters or banners, says gift expert Lottie Carrot.

Giving the right kind of gift to the right customer will ensure that they remember the name of a business and have its contact details to hand, Ms Carrot says.

All types of engraved gifts can be produced bearing the corporate logo.

Corporate logo gifts might include engraved picture frames for a photographer or a personalised pewter tankard for a publican.

Giving fashionable and useful corporate gifts is the most effective way to promote your business, Ms Carrot says.

It is also possible to directly target your preferred customer and create goodwill from them towards the company, she adds.

A 2006 study in the Corporate Communications journal by Ying Fan illustrated the "important role" corporate gifts can play in sales and marketing.
