Corporate gifts sales triple in Canada

Revenues in the corporate gifts and executive gifts sector have tripled in Canada to CAD $3.5 billion (£1.75 billion), the Nova Scotia Business Journal reports.

A similar study eight years ago found the revenue produced by the sector stood at CAD $1.2 billion.

Donald O'Hara, the president and chief executive officer of the Promotional Product Professionals of Canada, told the newspaper that despite corporate gifts being one of the oldest forms of advertising, it is also one of the fastest-growing.

He commented to the publication: "People are turning to promotional products because of their versatility, cost-effectiveness and unique ability to break through clutter with a clear and effective message."

Mr O'Hara was in the area for the annual promotional products trade industry show.

Recently Citizen.com reported that the American Independent Business Alliance was to hold a conference discussing the benefits of successful branding for small businesses, through corporate gifts and executive gifts.
