Corporate gifts 'should include some kind of incentive'

Business gifts and corporate gifts should push some sort of incentive for using a company, it has been claimed.

According to gifts expert Steve Evans, a simple business emblem or logo alone "is not enough" and there should be an "exceptionally strong point" about a company on their corporate gifts or an incentive to purchase from a particular firm.

Mr Evans claims that corporations often establish "stable goodwill" with their customers through the distribution of corporate gifts.

Corporate gifts which can be engraved include bar accessories such as hip flasks and pewter tankards as well as desk accessories like picture frames.

Senior vice-president at Sony Electronics Mike Abary told the Wall Street Journal that a personalised message, such as that which can be engraved onto corporate gifts, brings people closer to their products.

"Once they have engraved [the product], they feel like it's a part of them," he remarked.
