Corporate gifts show praised

A corporate gifts show has been praised by attendees, it has been reported.

The Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) said that its first MarketShows were well-received by people from the corporate gifts industry.

Darel Cook, PPAI director of expositions and meetings, explained that the event had provided both educational and networking opportunities for suppliers and distributors of executive gifts.

He pointed out the seven-to-one distributor-to-supplier ratio, adding: "Suppliers are pleased with the number and quality of attendees and distributors have taken advantage of the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with their current and prospective suppliers."

Corporate gifts expert Mark Landis added that the size of the show had made it easy for his supplying company to meet and converse with potential distributors.

A study carried out for the Events Industry Alliance showed that attendance at trade shows was up in 2006, the first time more people had attended such events since 1999.
