Corporate Gifts Giving News
Employee awards"go a long way"
Recognising your employees with milestone awards like corporate gifts can "go a long way" in encouraging staff to work well, it has been reported.
Writing in The Globe and Mail, business expert Kira Vermond claims that the type of business gift that a company gives to its employees for long service "says a lot about how it treats its workers".
Another benefit of providing milestone awards, according to Ms Vermond, is that the giving of such recognition does not "alienate" other employees as they know that they will be rewarded in their same way for their long service.
She commented: "Milestone awards
are the great equalizer: If you do the time, you get your dime."
In the current buoyant employment market, where there are a number of opportunities available to employees, it is important to recognise that they have chosen to stay with your company despite other opportunities, Ms Vermond added.
The Incentive Federation, based in the US, found that some 92 per cent of workers who were able to gain incentives claimed that they reached their targets because of such schemes.
