Engraved retirement gifts for favourite local landlord
A barman retiring after 30 years pulling pints in the North Devon town of Sidmouth has received a wealth of retirement gifts from his loyal punters.
Locals threw a huge retirement party for Jon Leask after his final shift at Sidmouth's War Memorial Club and presented him with cards and gifts.
Mr Leask received over 30 cards as well as an engraved clock, a decanter and glasses engraved with his name along with a bottle of his favourite whisky.
"I'm going to miss the camaraderie, the leg pulling and everything that used to go on. It's the craic really that I'll miss," he said, adding that the marina's folk week was "always a good run".
When he worked at another local pub, the Black Horse, Mr Leask was also heavily involved in the football team.
Although Mr Leask is retiring at the age of 65, he has not pulled his last pint yet. He will still be working part-time behind the bar.
