Engraved tankard for honoured rugby players
The players at the Widnes Rugby Union Club who were selected for representative orders have been presented with commemorative gifts to recognise their achievements.
Chris Schofield and Paul MacLindon received the awards in the clubhouse at Heath Road, Runcorn and Widnes World reports.
Player of the year was named as Kevin Farrow who has worked his way up through the ranks of the local team to make "spectacular progress" using his "all-action style", the newspaper says.
Young player of the year was "points machine" Kevin Leadbetter and the second team award-winner was Ciaran Clark.
The senior player of the year was named as Phil Harrison.
As well as being awarded as prizes, pewter tankards can be given as corporate gifts, as can desk accessories and bar accessories.
Widnes Rugby Union Club was founded in 1924 and is an amateur sports club run by volunteers and funded by donations.
