Law firms 'slimming down for easier branding'

Many law firms in the US are slimming down their names in order to make branding their products easier, it has been reported.

According to American publication the Houston Chronicle, firms have been shortening their names to just one word to make a "marketplace persona" for the company.

One firm that has shortened its name is Winstead Sechrest & Minick, the paper reports, which has recently shortened its name to simply Winstead.

The benefit of this particular name is that the first three letters spell the word 'win' - something which is very important for a law firm, the newspaper claims.

In addition, a partner in Winstead John McFarland told the Houston Chronicle that their logo also requires "gravitas" because they are a serious institution.

Logos can be printed onto corporate gifts in order to promote a brand.

Such business gifts might include desk accessories or high-quality pens.

HRMbusiness.com has reported that corporate gifts bearing a business's logo and slogan can perpetuate a brand image by making a company's brand distinctive from others.
