'Make sure the corporate gift matches the customer'

Companies considering giving corporate gifts to their most valued customers should find out what the recipient of the gift will enjoy, a marketing group has commented.

Writing on iZania.com, EastLake explained a good way to find out a business associate's hobbies or preferences is to visit their office and take note of the paraphernalia around the work environment.

Items to particularly look for include executive gifts from other companies which have been put on display, the expert said, as these will be the ones which are most enjoyed by the client.

The author advised: "When giving a corporate gift item to a valued customer, keep in mind the item is more about goodwill than it is about promoting your business."
