Mark retirement 'with engraved gifts'
Engraved gifts are popular retirement presents for employees who have dedicated time and effort into their work, it has emerged.
After 22 years of service to the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service, Jean Gee is putting her feet up, reports the Bury Times.
Known as "Aunty Jean" by her colleague, the resource manager was given a number of corporate recognition gifts, including an engraved rosebowl, champagne, chocolates, a special shield from Delywn Wray, the ambulance service area director along with business gifts in the form of vouchers.
The 65-year-old was also treated to a retirement meal at a Chinese restaurant, the newspaper states.
Over in Canada, engraved gifts were given to George Rook, a recording secretary for the Pelham Cares' volunteer agency.
The Welland Tribune reports that the 85-year-old received a certificate of appreciation and an engraved mug to mark the end of a 13-year tenure at the agency.
