More pewter tankards awarded to prize rowers

Award-winning rowers in Evesham have been presented with pewter tankards as their trophies, the Evesham Journal reports.

The news follows similar corporate gifts being awarded last week to rowers at a club in Bexhill.

Winners from the Evesham Rowing Club were presented with their business gifts awards after what the newspaper calls "a close row".

Novices Dan Barnes and Matt Murphy took on their rivals and clubmates Huw Davies and Terry MacDonald in the final of the Manmouth Annual Regatta.

According to the newspaper, each boat nudged ahead at some points in the race but in the end the pewter tankards were given to Huw Davies's team.

Other pewter tankardscorporate gifts went to James Gardner and Chris Sumner, the Evesham journal reports.

It is possible to become a member of the Manmouth Rowing Club online, which has its own constitution and rules of membership.
