Most people 'believe in the power of business gifts'

The majority of people believe that branded merchandise and corporate gifts increase a company's brand awareness, a survey has found.

According to a report on UTalkMarketing.com, 94 per cent of respondents agreed that branded corporate gifts increase awareness of a company.

Nearly two-thirds of survey respondents - 63 per cent - could name a brand or company's merchandise which is kept in their car.

And some 46 per cent had purchased from a company whose business gifts were kept in their car, UTalkMarketing quotes.

The survey, What's In Your Car?, was carried out in March 2008 by P&MM Source-e, a sourcing company, the third in their series of surveys questioning the relationship between corporate gifts and sales.

Previous surveys included What's on Your Desk? and What's in Your Bag or Briefcase?, UTalkMarketing reports.

Good branding is dependent on an effective logo, coherent branding and a well-defined image, according to Steve Alley on Australian business site News.com.au.
