New branding 'matches real airlines'
New TV reality show Celeb Air - which will see celebrities acting as cabin crew on real commercial flights - has been branded to fit in with the identity of a real airline as well as tying in with television conventions.
Monarch Airlines provided an aeroplane for the show and 11 celebrities will serve real passengers during flights.
Ben Caudell, creative director of the production company that is running the programme, said the aim of their campaign was to use factors such as logos and branding to closely mimic the atmosphere of a real plane.
He explained to Design Week: "What we wanted was a real airline logo. It had to tie in with the title sequence and reflect the ITV2 and Monarch colours, but look different."
Such efforts show the importance of branding as creating the right logos gave the airline a genuine feel.
Expert Miles Lovegrove has said corporate gifts are a good place to put a company's logo because executive gifts recipients will constantly see the business's logo.
