Packaging and logos 'most influential branding'
With advertising space expensive, creative packaging and logos can be a cheap and effective way to improve in-store branding, it has been claimed.
According to Jack R Gordon, president of AcuPOLL, packaging is "today's most powerful branding opportunity".
He has said logos and packaging needs to make the company and its product stand out on the supermarket shelf, attracting people to buy it.
Mr Gordon added that packaging should provoke an emotional response, encouraging customers to like or demand the brand.
This is because "building brands is largely a matter of emotional bonding between the brand and consumers", which is facilitated by advertising and logos.
According to About.com, a company's logo, which can be transferred onto corporate gifts, should reflect the values of a company and provide an effective symbol which can provide instant brand recognition to potential and existing customers.
Company designers should also ensure that the logo is not overtly-fashionable so it can continue to be used year after year, also meaning corporate gifts will stay in style.
