Promotional marketing celebrates 40th birthday

The Promotional Marketing Association of Northern California (PMANC) is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

PMANC, which is a body for producers of corporate gifts in the north of California, has just held its annual conference, which received 200 suppliers and 500 distributors.

Attendance at the conference was up 20 per cent on previous years.

The association believes that networking and cooperation is important within the corporate gifts industry and as such runs Conversation Cafes.

Held every quarter in six different locations across the state, the lunches are intended to provide "an opportunity to discuss hot topics and share ideas with local members while fostering a community spirit".

According to Australian company Jem, corporate gifts should be relevant to the target industry, for example bar accessories should be given to a pub owner.

The company believes that "there is at least one promotional product that is relevant to every industry sector".
