Recycling of executive gifts leads to green awards

A business using corporate gifts rather than buying its own desk accessories has won a Green Business Award for its efforts.

Century Bank was praised for the environmental sustainability of its premises, where the institution has installed high-efficiency heating, ventilation, lighting and ventilation systems, Wicked Local reports.

Glass walls have also been used to maximise the thermal efficiency of the building.

According to the news provider, in recent years the Century Bank has stopped using bottled water and prioritised the use of corporate gifts - claiming that they are a greener form of marketing as they can be reused.

The bank also recycles more than 2.5 million envelopes.

Awards were issued to various institutions for their efforts to be more green by the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce, the Wicked Local reports.

The Business Courier has reported that a new firm - Racecooler Co - are recycling old tyres to be used as corporate gifts.
