Tour de France sponsors embrace corporate gifts

The sponsors of the Tour de France are holding a parade during which corporate gifts and executive gifts will be distributed among the crowds.

As part of the warm-up to the event, cyclingnews.com reports, a Caravane Publicitaire, a parade made up of huge floats from the event's corporate sponsors, drives along the French streets.
Manned by students, corporate gifts such as desk accessories are thrown into the crowds.

According to cyclingnews.com, the people who catch these executive gifts "can never get rid of them".

The Tour de France kicks off tomorrow in Brittany.

David Millar and Mark Cavendish are Britain's representatives in the 95th edition of the world-renowned race.

Mr Cavendish has already won two gold medals at the cycling world championships and, according to the BBC, "has three genuine possibilities of winning a stage in the first week".

If he does so, he will be the seventh Briton to win a stage at the race in the 95-year history.
