Woolworths loses commemorative wedding items
High street chain Woolworths has revealed that it has scrapped its proposed branded merchandise, which it produced in 2006 to celebrate a predicted engagement between Prince William and girlfriend Kate Middleton.
The move is blamed on the prince's changed appearance since his university days.
Woolworths has claimed that Prince William now has less hair than he did two years ago and his cheeks have also slimmed down during his time at military training centre Sandhurst.
A spokesperson for the chain said that "time has moved on" and that the retailer "has no plans" to sell royal merchandise in the near future.
Logo-based products like the souvenir plates can be used as commemorative corporate gifts for businesses.
Such business logo gifts might include desk accessories or bar accessories.
The organisers of the American New York Incentive, Rewards and Recognition show, have claimed that corporate logo gifts are "a powerful medium" for reaching employees, customers and potential clients.
